WELCOME TO THE AAPC NORTHERN KENTUCKY LOCAL CODING CHAPTER! The purpose of our chapter is to help accomplish the purpose and mission of the Academy’s national organization. To establish and maintain professional ethical, and educational standards for professional coders. Provide a national certification and credentialing process. Support the national and local membership by providing educational products and opportunities to network. Increase and promote national recognition and awareness of professional coding.

AAPC CEU Policy:

Certification requirements are:

Single: 36 CEUs every 2 years

Double: 48 CEU’s every 2 years

Triple Certification: 60 CEUs every 2 years

Education curriculum must be coding related, however up to one third of CEUs submitted may be billing, compliance, or reimbursement related curriculum.

WHEN TO SUBMIT:

For certified coders due to renew in an odd month of the year (January, March, May, etc.), you will submit one year’s worth of CEUs in 2009. After your CEUs have been submitted in 2009, your will not have CEUs due again until 2011.

For certified coders due to renew in an even month of the year (February, April, June, etc.), your CEUs are not due until 2010.

You will however need to submit your Membership dues yearly.
